Chen, Yan-Xun, Ma, Chia-Lo, Lee Zhi- Yu, and Shen, Hui-Hao, students from the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing demonstrated outstanding creativity and strategic thinking under the guidance of faculty member Chuang Tung-Lin. Their team produced a highly professional work for Lalamove Short Video Competition and was honored with the sole “Best Video Award”, the highest recognition of the event. With their exceptional performance, the four students brought great honor to the department, showcasing the program’s strength in cultivating creativity and project execution skills.

National Museum of Marine Science & Technology (NMMST) held 2025 Smart Science Promotion and Sustainable Brand Marketing Competition, with finals on May 23. Under the guidance of faculty member Yu Shu-Fen, students Tsai, Tsai-Yu, Liao Pei-Chun, Lin Yun-Chien, Tu Meng-Hsuan, and Huang Shu-Chen integrated elements appealing to the younger generation, showcasing a compelling blend of sustainability themes and marketing creativity. Selected from among 196 teams nationwide, this group won the Silver Award.

Student CAI, BING-XIU received an Honorable Mention for his proposal “LianThai (in love with Thailand) – learning a different Thailand.” in the 7th Chinese PR Awards (Student PR Strategy Proposal Category) hosted by the Taiwan and Taipei International Public Relations Association (TIPRA). The proposal was based on Tsai’s Instagram account “LianThai,” which he has managed since 2023, focusing on Thai tourism and study abroad information. It effectively incorporated post-pandemic tourism trends and policy insights, with future prospects for collaboration with Thai tourism organizations.

In the 2025 I’m Young; I’m Green” ESG Short Film Competition on campus, co-organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, Taipei City Government, students Wu Shao-Wei, Liang Wen-Kai, Liu Kuan-Ting, Fan Chia-Er, and Li Tzu-Yu were honored with an Excellence Award for their short film “For a Better Tomorrow, I Choose to Change”, which visually expressed and interpreted the core values of ESG.

Under the guidance of faculty member Yu, Shu-Fen, the international student team “Team LZFC” from the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing—comprising Fan Chia-Er, Lam Lok-Yiu, and Liang Wen-Kai from Hong Kong; Li Tzu-Yu from Malaysia; and Liao Cheng-Chang from Indonesia—applied digital transformation and phygital strategies to enhance home delivery services. Their project won Second Place (nationwide) in the the 3rd Uni-President Enterprises and Affiliates Business Competition 2025 – Delivery Opportunities Division.

2024 Ming Chuan University Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing “Advertising Monopoly” One-Day Experience Camp for High School Students
Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing, School of Communication, Ming Chuan University, hosted the “Advertising Monopoly: Strategic Marketing Showdown” one-day experience camp on Taipei campus on May 18, 2024. This camp aimed to introduce high school students to the field of advertising and marketing. The program included activities such as one-page project planning, media literacy, communication knowledge, and creative thinking. Participants also had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the School of Communication.

Cross-departmental student team won an award at the 2024 TSC Marketing Symposium under the guidance of Professor Chuang, Tung-Lin and Professor Tsai, Chi-Jui
Under the guidance of Professor Chuang, Tung-Lin, Department of New Media and Communication Administration students Chao, Yu-Xuan, Chou, Jia-Yan, and Ji, Guan-Yu, created “Xinyi Sports Center—A Good Neighbor for the Community!” which won the highest honor, the Diamond Award, at 2024 9th TSC Marketing Symposium. Additionally, the work “Blue Fish Ba: Leisurely Enjoy Seafood and Quality Light Meals,” created by Department of Radio and TV student Yuan, Rong, Department of New Media and Communication Administration students Weng, Jie-Yu, Chong, Hui-Shan, and Li, Zi-Ging, also under the guidance of Professor Chuang, Tung-Lin, won the Golden Award. Furthermore, the project “Blue Fish Ba: Enjoying Leisure Time,” created by Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing students Chen, Yong-Wen, Mai, Yu-Chen, Lin, Xin-Ni, Huang, Wan-Ting, and He, Yong-Xin under the guidance of Professor Tsai, Chi-Jui, won the Silver Award.

To assist Ming Chuan University faculty and staff members, and students, in understanding, recognizing, and identifying with 10 Pillars Education, “Ming Chuan University 10 Pillars Education Slogan and Logo Design Competition” was organized by the General Secretary’s Division. Chuang, Yin-Ting and Weng, Wei-Chen, students from the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing received the Excellent Promotion Slogan Prize.

2024 Campus Public Relations Proposal Competition
Students Xu, Zi-Ging, Guo, Yu-Qi, Huang, Xin-Yi, Li, Zhi-Jie, Li, Yi-Jie, and Shen, Hui-Hao from the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing, Ming Chuan University, participated in the “2024 Campus Public Relations Proposal Competition”. They received an Honorable Mention for their design of a public relations communication plan for the RhinoShield brand targeting Generation Z consumers.

2023 2nd National SDGs Innovation and Creativity Competition – Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing Won the 1st and 2nd Places
Student teams from the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing, Ming Chuan University, had outstanding performances in the 2023 2nd National SDGs Innovation and Creativity Competition hosted by Takming University of Science and Technology. Under the guidance of faculty members Chen, Po-Yu, Tsai, Chi-Jui, Chiu, Yu-Chih, and Wang Wan-Chia, the team of students Zhuang, Yi-Ting, Jian, Hui-Ci, Zhang, Pin-Xuan, Zhang, Ruo-Zhen, Lee, Shao-Yang, and Wu, Dong-Qian won the championship in the Service Innovation category with their project “Repurposed Career Path”. The team of Chen, Rou-Qian, Chen Shang-Wei, Zhuang Yong-Xi, and Yang Kai-Xin received the runner-up award in the Service Innovation category for their project “Mom, I Can — A Job Platform Tailored for Moms.” The project “Security Map” planned by students Lin, Hsin-Ni, Lian, Yi-Han, and Mai, Yu-Chen, received an Honorable Mention.

Dr. Yu, Shu-Fen guided students in a collaboration with the Shilin Night Market business district, embodying the practice of University Social Responsibility
Under the guidance of Dr. Yu, Shu-Fen, students from the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing collaborated with the Shilin Night Market business district, putting University Social Responsibility into practice. As part of the senior course “Advertising Strategy and Planning,” the students assisted in planning creative proposals and social media strategies for the “Shilin Night Market” Facebook page. Their efforts, including the production of videos, graphics, and animations, achieved outstanding results. The project aims to generate new buzz and boost tourism for the Shilin Night Market, reviving its former glory.

The Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing launched a new IP character “Hart” for the 2023 Heart-to-Heart Festival
The 2023 Heart-to-Heart Festival, organized by the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing to deepen student connections and foster strong friendships, introduced “Hart,” a mail carrier delivering love, warmth, and heartfelt messages. The storyline centers around Hart’s journey of discovering the meaning of delivering love and warmth, weaving through the entire festival. The goal was to enhance interaction and friendships among Ming Chuan students while encouraging care for those around them in the real world. Hart appeared across campus, and the festival featured markets, games, photography, and social media hashtag contests, inviting everyone to join in exploring the significance of spreading love and warmth

In April 2023, the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing at Ming Chuan University held the “Immersive Suspenseful Marketing Camp”. Through interactive challenges and a suspenseful storyline interwind with obstacles, high school students were led to learn creative ideation from their daily lives by uncovering hidden truths concealed within intricate details.

In November 2022, students of the Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing at Ming Chuan University participated in a creative competition with the theme of “Rise of Youth Power: Matters of Land, Water, and Us” held by the Environmental Protection Administration, and won one Golden and two Bronze Awards. Their winning entries include “Bā Pó” which won the Gold Medal Award in the college section, while “If We Don’t Protect the Environment, We’ll Be in Trouble” and “Loveu” received Bronze Awards along with NTD 50,000 and NTD 10,000, respectively.

The 32nd Times Young Creatives Award Ceremony took place on July 2, 2023. This award is often called the “Youth Oscars of Creativity”. This year, with the participation of nearly a hundred judges from across the strait, the competition was exceptionally fierce as they selected the winning entries from a pool of 101,500 submissions. In this intense competition, Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing at Ming Chuan University achieved remarkable results, securing one Bronze Award, one 1st Place, one 2nd Place, one 3rd Place, and two Outstanding.

Student Shen, Bing-Tang, Department of Advertising and Strategic Marketing at Ming Chuan University took top honors in the ”2022-23 Academic Year MCU Students’ Reflections in the Media Competence Course Student Reflections Contest” with ‘Flutter! The Wings!’ The article discusses the chaotic landscape of media in Taiwan by analyzing practical cases, and emphasizes the importance for both media professionals and audiences to develop their media capacity and ability, and avoid prematurely making judgment on the authenticity of events.
